When a 90,000 lb Hoist forklift goes down at a steel operation, every minute of downtime matters.
On the Friday before Memorial Day weekend, Forklift Exchange received a service call from an Indiana steel facility after critical safety equipment failed on one of their heavy-capacity forklifts. The machine’s windshield wiper and horn stopped functioning — creating a serious operational and safety concern while handling massive steel loads.
Our field service team responded immediately, arriving on-site with the parts and expertise needed to complete the repair in the field. The failed safety components were replaced, the truck was fully inspected, certified, and returned to service before the holiday weekend began.
At Forklift Exchange, we understand that heavy industry cannot afford unnecessary downtime. Whether it’s a planned maintenance visit or an emergency field repair, our technicians are equipped to service some of the largest forklifts operating in the steel, marina, rigging, and industrial markets.
