Forklifts are built to transport palletized loads. They excel at moving materials over relatively long distances and loading or unloading trucks, racks, and storage areas. When the load is stable, palletized, and supported from underneath, a forklift is often the right choice.
A pick & carry crane is designed for a different type of work.
Instead of supporting a load on forks, it lifts from above using a hook. This makes it ideal for machinery, transformers, generators, steel fabrications, tanks, molds, and other equipment that can’t easily be palletized or safely handled with forks.
JMG electric pick & carry cranes also allow operators to lift and transport suspended loads in one continuous operation during normal pick & carry work. That capability can simplify machinery installations, plant maintenance, and equipment relocations where precision is critical.
